Once a search has come to an end, whether a hire has resulted or not, the position should be closed and archived to keep the university in compliance with the US Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP). Any institution that has federal contracts or grants, needs to be in compliance with the laws and regulations set by the OFCCP.
Successfully closing a position will remove it from the Academic Job Listings site.
