Identify who is up for RPT

Who will be the next candidate up for a reappointment, promotion and tenure?

As noted, Interfolio is the online system that gathers all the required documents for a review by a Tenure and Appointments Committee such as  the TAC for Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) or the TACBS for Medical School or SAACs for the other professional schools.  However, not all cases need to be reviewed by a tenure and appointments committee.  Departments can also use Interfolio for reviews in reappointments as well

Reappointments and promotions are used for candidates that are internal to Yale.  Therefore, one of the ways to determine who is up next for either a reappointment or promotion is to run one of the Academic reports in WorkdayAcademic - Expiring Appointments or Academic - View Current Appointments - Yale.

This will help you and your chair to keep aware of who is needs to start the process. Best practice is to have the case wrapped up by the pennultimate year.

Consult the Faculty Handbook and contact one of the areas above should you need further assistance.

Who will need a case for an appointment?

Cases for appointments to tenure are for candidates who are external to Yale but are coming to Yale and need to be reviewed by a tenure and appointments committee.  These are individual identified via a search for a rank typically higher than an assistant professor.
